Malaysia is heading towards a knowledge-driven economy and The One Academy has responded to this by supporting the growth of the creative new media industry. One such project that The One Academy has embarked upon in the past 19 years in collaboration with Walt Disney Studios Malaysia, is the joint launching of Disney's animated movies in Malaysia with an annual art competition.

The Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artists Awards 2017 aims to inspire Malaysian teens from all corners of Malaysia, serving as a platform for young teens to discover their possibilities and artistic passion. The 20th year of competition invites our new generations to break through the ordinary and expand their creativity, motivating young talents to further develop their skills professionally. Selected art-enthusiast winners will be rewarded with a chance to pursue their dreams in one of the world's best art and design school, The One Academy of Communication Design.

This award began in 1998 with the release of Disney's 'A Bug's Life', followed by Disney • Pixar's 'Toy Story 2', Disney's 'Dinosaur', Disney • Pixar's Monsters, Inc', Disney's 'Lilo & Stitch', Disney's 'Finding Nemo', Disney's 'The Incredibles', Disney/Walden's 'The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe', Disney • Pixar's 'Cars', Disney • Pixar's 'Ratatouille', Disney • Pixar's 'Wall-E', Disney • Pixar's 'Up', Disney • Pixar's 'Toy Story 3', Disney • Pixar's 'Cars 2', Disney • Pixar's 'BRAVE', Disney • Pixar's 'Monsters University', Disney's "Planes: Fire & Rescue", Disney • Pixar's 'Inside Out' and Disney • Pixar's 'Finding Dory'.
